Playing at Pisco Bar is always like coming home somehow. It’s definitely one of my favorite venues for a club night in KL. Cozy, dark and not too big – just right to have a great night with a crowd of 100-200 people who dig my music. And when it comes to deep house, tech house and indie dance – this is the place to go (as a guest) and play (as a DJ).
Some don’t know that the busy bar and restaurant downstairs actually has a happening club upstairs. The website is a bit misleading – it shows the bar / restaurant part, which actually is where the night starts and where the good food is. My favorite: Grilled Bead with Tuna Tartar. I love it. The perfect light and yummy dinner before a long night at the decks.
After dinner and drinks it’s time to adjourn to the first floor part – that’s where the club action happens. The sound system is decent and the selection of DJs and live acts who perform on a regular basis is excellent. I’ve been inviting DJ friends of mine (Madz Abdel Azis from Manila, Dusty from Germany) who happened to be in KL to play there with me and they were very much pleased with the place and the crowd.
A big hug to the owners – Nico, Yvonne and sister Leonie – who are the most pleasant people to deal and drink with!
